Affirmative action opponents often cite “reverse racism” as their issue with the practice, but even so, almost 75% of private external scholarships in four-year bachelor’s programs, almost 66% of institutional grants and scholarships and over 75% of all merit-based grants go to them over black, Latino and Asian students.

That’s how many BSN degrees Colorado is expected to be short of in 2024. To combat this crisis, the Colorado Community College System (CCCS) wants to offer four-year nursing degrees, but the University of Colorado system is fighting against it.

In today’s social climate, the announcement comes as a disappointment to those hoping for more diversity in higher education leadership.

That’s how many Americans who take out a loan to pay for their degree never actually receive one. In fact, more than 100,000 students in Georgia who took out federal loans withdrew from the state’s public colleges and universities between 2013 and 2015.
