That’s the percentage of students on the UC Merced campus who are Latino, a figure which closely mirrors the demographics of the state of California. Meanwhile, the Berkeley campus has come under scrutiny for their 13% Latino student population.

That’s the percentage of white students at South Carolina’s College of Charleston. The school quietly suspended affirmative action practices two years ago but has now decided to resume them. In a statement, Interim President Stephen Osborne said, “I have advised the admissions team, effective immediately, to implement an additional application review of students of color and to make it abundantly clear that, as an institution, we do and will consider race as a factor in our holistic review process.”

That’s the average amount of student debt for graduates who live in South Carolina. The state’s ranking in lists of states with the most debt varies from study to study, but no matter how you slice it, the state ranks among the top in the country.
