PostBacCAS Is a “Lifesaver”: How Two Programs are Doing More with Less

Even before the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, DeEttra Mulay, director of the Post-Baccalaureate Premedical Program at Scripps College in Claremont, California knew all too well how difficult it can be to oversee recruiting and application processes in a busy admissions office.

Fortunately, she also has a first-hand appreciation of the benefits provided by PostBacCAS™, Liaison’s Centralized Application Service (CAS™) for postbaccalaureate programs.

“We’re staffed by a pretty small team,” she says in Liaison’s new free, on-demand webinar, “Postbac Today and Tomorrow: How Two Programs are Doing More with Less.”

“I’m actually a three-quarter time employee and I have a half-time assistant. We’re very decentralized from the rest of the campus,” says Mulay, who also serves as co-chair of the PostBacCAS advisory board. “We’re always trying to do more with less. PostBacCAS has been the reason that our office is able to do more. We went from opening a lot of transcripts to just opening up a beautiful PDF that’s ready to go for us. It has completely changed how we use our time in the office and that’s been really, really helpful.”

“So happy”

Joy Henderson, director of Postbaccalaureate Studies Programs at Campbell University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Buies Creek, North Carolina can relate to that sentiment.

“Using PostBacCAS has been a lifesaver in our office, because it’s just me and the coordinator,” says Henderson, a PostBacCAS advisory board member. “We can pretty much do everything through PostBacCAS. If I get stuck, I can always call someone at Liaison and we work through the issue immediately. I’ve been so happy.”

PostBacCAS, which serves as a single portal for prospective students to apply to multiple career changer and grade enhancement programs, streamlines application review for participating programs.

With PostBacCAS, applicants can research programs and then use one online application to apply to all programs of interest. Programs can use PostBacCAS to reach a broader audience of applicants and to improve admissions workflows (including review processes and evaluations) so they can focus on fostering relationships with their prospective students.

In the webinar, Henderson and Mulay join Robert Ruiz, Liaison’s vice president of strategic enrollment, to share insights about:

  • Their postbac programs’ recruitment and admissions goals.
  • How they adopted new strategies and technologies, including PostBacCAS, to achieve those goals.
  • New trends they are seeing in the postbac field.
  • How those changes may affect postbac programs in the future.

You already know that the postbac education marketplace is highly competitive. It’s time you also learn more about how PostBacCAS can help your program thrive.
