Liaison had a wonderful time at this year’s OADN convention, “OADN: The Bridge to Nursing’s Future,” last week in Jacksonville, FL. This educational conference drew professionals from around the country to discuss how to advance the goals of associate degree nursing education and enhance the skills and knowledge for nursing education practitioners. Liaison was there to share information about how to improve recruitment and enrollment for associate’s degree nursing programs.
Here are some highlights from our experience:
- While we’ve all had more than enough business travel these days, we were happy to brave the flight delays and cancellations for OADN. From the opening reception and the exhibit halls to the Educational Sessions and Lunch & Learn, OADN offered opportunities to meet and greet colleagues and friends and to collaborate on ways to improve the future of Nursing Education. And who would have wanted to miss the announcement of the formation of the Academy of Associate Degree Nursing? Congratulations to Dr. Susan Hassmiller, Ph.D., RN—the inaugural member of the Academy!
- It was such a pleasure to have time with our partners, including Caroline Allen, NursingCAS Director at AACN. And we enjoyed co-sponsoring a Lunch & Learn with Castle Branch about FutureFocus: their new solution for gathering data from students as they progress through their programs and into post-graduate careers. Castle Branch provides integrated background screening for NursingCAS applicants, as the exclusive background screening and compliance management company for OADN. It’s great to partner with organizations that provide innovative solutions to improve the future of Nursing education.
- And the most exciting part about OADN for Liaison was the opportunity to talk with admissions professionals and schools about how our product can help your teams meet your enrollment goals. It was quite rewarding to hear from an attendee, “NursingCAS is exactly what I’ve been looking for, and I can’t wait to get my enrollment team on board!”
To thank visitors for stopping by our exhibit booth, we held a drawing for an Apple Watch, and we are happy to announce the winner:
Congratulations, Rosie! Enjoy your new Apple Watch!
